Last week one of my friends decided to quit his job as a VJ. It is an unfortunate loss because he is very talented and did a great job. He has a great voice and a very natural delivery plus he could put together a story very fast. I was sad to see him go but his heart was no longer in it. I have always said if I get to a point were I’m not happy doing a job, then it is time to look for different work.
I’m not at that point yet and I still enjoy my job even with all the recent changes around here.

Good to know, Todd! :) I am glad you still like your job. I did my first video this weekend for you guys... just trying to get ahold of Bill or Joe or someone! They don't have to air it- but as a Video 101 grad... I'd like them to look at it and tell me what I can do to make it better. :)

Again... who was the VJ that quit?

Alex Lucas.

was he a shooter turned VJ or a reporter turned VJ?

Sounds like it's turning into a business for young people.

Good luck Todd.

Looks like it will be up to you to be the last one out of the newsroom.

Don't forget to turn out the lights before you also leave.

Todd,

Please get on here and tell us how it is really going. We see the websites dogging the VJ thing, but since you do it every day, tell us how it is going.

Thank you.

I'm afraid that Todd wouldn't be able to be very honest about how it really is going. His bosses surely read his blog on occasion and IF it's not going well... he can't say. I would like to know what websites are discussing this.

Try b-roll.net. You'll get your fill there.

If u know Todd, u know he tells it like it is. He's very easy going - he goes with with the flow. Like he's said before, writing isn't his favorite thing to do, so if u know him ask him next time u see him.

"...If u know Todd, u know he tells it like it is..."

if you know WKRN, you know it is nearly impossible to get anything that even resembles the truth from anyone inside that building...

don't get me wrong, i am not calling out Todd...in fact, i completely agree with your assertion that Todd is "very easy going" and would add that Todd is one of the most honest people i've ever known...BUT...

do not believe ANYTHING you read in a public forum about the goings-on at WKRN...that ship is slowly sinking and has been since the departure of Matthew Zelkind, regardless of the VJ switch...if you need evidence of this, simply check their website for job openings...EVERYONE IS LEAVING, and QUICKLY

now, if Todd says he loves his job as a VJ, make no mistake about it...Todd loves his job as a VJ

i'd be willing to bet a month's salary that you couldn't find 2 other VJs who honestly feel the same
